Our Vision
People often ask me about my vision for the future. Jesus is coming back for a spotless bride, so it is important that we embrace change and the pace the Lord requires.
As I look at the future:
I see a Church that is God centred, led with purpose, and people empowering.
It is a Church growing with new converts and new members. A church with a reputation that peoples lives get transformed here. It is a Church that shares the timeless message of Jesus in its services in contemporary ways, thru the use of the Arts, and anointed relevant biblical preaching. This Church’s number one priority is to glorify God and bring his wonderful life to a lost world.
This Church is exciting, attractive, confident and full of life. It is incredibly fun to be in.
It equips and empowers ordinary people to live extraordinary lives.
The Church I see is a deeply committed, loving, caring family. In love with God, in love with life, and caring for each other.
It is a Church that serves its Community and City. It builds multiple bridges of practical help and relationship to the community around, so that anyone including the lonely the broken and disadvantaged can find new hope, healing, and a place to belong.
It is a Church that reaches out strategically to the far reaches of the World.
This Church I see is Kingdom minded. It leads by example and encourages and invests into other Churches and Ministries in their efforts to see the Body of Christ grow and develop.
It fosters leadership in other churches and invests into the Body of Christ through events and training.
Friends this is the future for St Albans Baptist Church. I’m excited about seeing this unfold, and I invite you to join me in building such a great church.

Welcome to St Albans Baptist Church, a church committed to impacting and changing our community and generation with the reality of Jesus.
As you visit with us on line I trust you will be inspired by what you see of what God is doing through the life and ministry of this great Church.
Sandra and I head up a great team of committed, loving, staff and leaders. We have been here many years now and are all committed to building a life changing, contemporary, relevant Church.
We carry a heart for people to grow and become all that God has planned for them to be. We carry a heart for our local community, and are constantly working to see our community helped, inspired and blessed. We also carry a heart for the wider body of Christ, seeking to work with and help other churches to fulfil their God given purposes.
SABC is a church made up of all kinds of people committed to doing life together.

 Tony Marsh
Community Pastor.
My role as Community Pastor allows me to interface with the local community. To encourage others to build relationships with friends and neighbours. I have two simple sayings, “Life is to be lived” and “Life is to be enjoyed not endured”. Many of us need to be encouraged to live life to the fullest. I have the privilege of being married to Marian and we have two wonderful adult daughters. It is a privilege to be part of a Leadership Team that seeks to serve an awesome God.

Assistant Pastor.
Hi. I'm Warren and my position at SABC is Assistant Pastor with responsibility for Church Management and Small Groups. I am married to Sharon and we have one daughter, Charlotte. I have been part of SABC for 40 years and am privileged to be part of an awesome Team serving God in this place.
 Caleb Rattray
Youth Pastor.
Hey, I'm Caleb. It's a real privelage to youth pastor full time here at SABC since Feb 08! Previously I did the role in my spare time as a volunteer leader and developed a real heart for the youth and God's church. I have been at St Albans with my family since I was 11 years old. It's so great to be part of a vibrant church that loves young people and has a vision for reaching our city.

 Brenda Rattray
I am married to Bruce and we have 4 adult sons. Matthew, Nathan, Tim and Caleb. As a family we love camping. For exercise I walk and mountain bike ride. I absolutely enjoy life and serving in the Community in various voluntary roles. My passion is to see people find their significance in and through a relationship with Jesus.
 Robert Norriss
I have been a Christian for over 25 years, husband of my best friend, Denise and father of three fantastic children. I am part owner and manager of a business in the engineering industry where I am able to discover how Christian principals work in real life. I also run and coach other athletes. My main passion is to be an active member of a Church that is effective in transforming a community, bringing many people into a relationship with Jesus, saving them from hell. For this reason I love being a part of SABC.
 Graham Collinswood
I lead a very busy rewarding life. I have a wonderful family (Jennifer and 3 daughters), am employed as a Credit Manager/Special Projects at Holcim New Zealand, and enjoy the lifestyle of our small 5 acre lifestyle block in Mandeville, North Canterbury. I am an avid sports fan mainly watching now than participating.
It is a real privilege to be part of a dynamic church and leadership team that wants to make a difference in the world today and be known to the community as a place where they are always welcome.
Worship Director
 Sandra Alpe
This church family is amazing and I have the privilage of serving in the areas of Worship and Creatvie Arts, with people who are as passionalte as I to see God encounters happening each time we meet together. I have been involved in this area for the last 10 years and one of the things I love seeing is our youth stepping up and embracing their part - They bring a new look and sound to Gods house!
John and I have three amazing young adults in our family, and I love hanging out with my family and friends.
