Our Vision is to Win and Impact our Community, and City, and influence our Nation and the World, for God, by building a Great Church We believe the greatest endeavour going on in the Planet is the Church of Jesus Christ! We exist as a Church to

  1. Win people into relationship with Jesus Christ, to
  2. Assimilate them into the family.
  3. Giving them opportunity to grow in their faith and
  4. Discover their ministry, and
  5. Honour God with their lives.

God trusts us with this awesome task. It is above and beyond us, by ourselves, but is not beyond Him in us. He believes in us more than we do. You are a great company of people, that God calls the Church!

Pastors

 John & Sandra Alpe
Senior Pastors

Welcome to St Albans Baptist Church, a church committed to impacting and changing our community and generation with the reality of Jesus.

As you visit with us on line I trust you will be inspired by what you see of what God is doing through the life and ministry of this great Church.

Sandra and I head up a great team of committed, loving, staff and leaders. We have been here many years now and are all committed to building a life changing, contemporary, relevant Church.

We carry a heart for people to grow and become all that God has planned for them to be. We carry a heart for our local community, and are constantly working to see our community helped, inspired and blessed. We also carry a heart for the wider body of Christ, seeking to work with and help other churches to fulfil their God given purposes.

SABC is a church made up of all kinds of people committed to doing life together.

Never forget that you matter to God, and to us. We would love to have you come and visit with us sometime soon.

 Tony Marsh
Community Pastor.

My role as Community Pastor allows me to interface with the local community. To encourage others to build relationships with friends and neighbours. I have two simple sayings, “Life is to be lived” and “Life is to be enjoyed not endured”. Many of us need to be encouraged to live life to the fullest. I have the privilege of being married to Marian and we have two wonderful adult daughters. It is a privilege to be part of a Leadership Team that seeks to serve an awesome God.

 Warren Read
Assistant Pastor.

Hi. I'm Warren and my position at SABC is Assistant Pastor with responsibility for Church Management and Small Groups. I am married to Sharon and we have one daughter, Charlotte. I have been part of SABC for 40 years and am privileged to be part of an awesome Team serving God in this place.

Elders

 Brenda Rattray
I am married to Bruce and we have 4 adult sons. Matthew, Nathan, Tim and Caleb. As a family we love camping. For exercise I walk and mountain bike ride. I absolutely enjoy life and serving in the Community in various voluntary roles. My passion is to see people find their significance in and through a relationship with Jesus.

 Robert Norriss
I have been a Christian for over 25 years, husband of my best friend, Denise and father of three fantastic children. I am part owner and manager of a business in the engineering industry where I am able to discover how Christian principals work in real life. I also run and coach other athletes. My main passion is to be an active member of a Church that is effective in transforming a community, bringing many people into a relationship with Jesus, saving them from hell. For this reason I love being a part of SABC.

 Graham Collinswood
I lead a very busy rewarding life. I have a wonderful family (Jennifer and 3 daughters), am employed as a Credit Manager/Special Projects at Holcim New Zealand, and enjoy the lifestyle of our small 5 acre lifestyle block in Mandeville, North Canterbury. I am an avid sports fan mainly watching now than participating.

It is a real privilege to be part of a dynamic church and leadership team that wants to make a difference in the world today and be known to the community as a place where they are always welcome.
