Seb arrived at SABC in January 2017, after being called by God to move from England to Christchurch. He was previously doing youth work for a church in Bath for five years, as well as a degree in youth work and theology.
As Youth Pastor, Seb is responsible for running the church youth group, working in local schools, and overseeing what goes on for young adults here at SABC. He is passionate about connecting with young people from all walks of life and seeing them have the freedom to connect with God too.
Seb enjoys a good tramp, loves listening to people, is a self-confessed wind-up merchant, has porridge every morning, and inhales all things rugby - but won't be seen in a All Blacks jersey!
Tara has been fellowshipping at SABC for over 13 years now. During this time she has enjoyed serving in many different capacities within church life, building on relationships and being an active part of the church community.
With a background as an ECE teacher, Tara looks forward to using some of those skills in her role as the Childrens and Families Pastor, which she began at the start of 2023. She is very much looking forward to collaborating with parents to support our tamariki to build their own foundations of faith and know how to connect with God so that they can hear from Him themselves.
Tara loves to spend time with her extended family in her hometown of Oxford, snuggling all seven nieces and nephews at once if possible. Otherwise, you can find her enjoying the tranquility of calm water on her paddleboard with friends, or letting her creativity fly loose at the helm of her sewing machine.
Matthew has been our Facility Manager since 2019. He brings a wealth of experience from roles in Human Resources, Health & Safety, Administration Management, Warehousing and Manufacturing. Since coming to faith in 2014 Matthew and his wife Lynette had a desire and call to move from Tauranga to Christchurch in 2017. “The first church we came to, was St Albans Baptist Church on their opening day of the refurbished auditorium”. “We knew this was where God wanted us to be”.
Matthew & Lynette between them have two daughters one granddaughter, stepson,
adopted daughter, in Tauranga, Dunedin, and Brisbane plus family here in Christchurch.
Outside of work, they like to spend time checking out all the great places Christchurch
has to offer.
Esther is our newest addition to the SABC team, having joined in October 2023. Esther's role is to market the Church through the use of online media platforms. Having a degree in design, and some experience with other organizations, she has been enjoying using her skills for the church.
Esther has a love for art, and being outdoors, but spends most of her spare time with her young family.
